Recent Changes to Policies made by Board Action
November 24, 2009

At its regular business meeting on November 24, 2009 the Board of Directors amended two policies, repealed three policies, one of which was replaced by another policy adopted.

Policy 6680 - Amended and Renamed : Safety, Security and Emergency Management
This amended policy contains the elements of former policies 6680, 6680.5, 6682 and 6683.  It covers the district and school responsibilities to provide adequately for the safety and security of its students, staff and visitors. 

Policy 6680.5 - Crisis Management
This policy has been repealed.  The major elements have been added to the amended policy 6680.

Policy 6681 - Accident Prevention and Reporting
This policy has been amended to conform to current approved practices for Environmental Health and Safety, and Risk Management.

Policy 6682 (OLD) - Emergency Procedures
This policy has been repealed.  The major elements have been added to the amended policy 6680.

Policy 6682 (NEW) - Emergency Health Care
Formerly the District's stance on DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) and DNI (Do Not Intubate) medical orders was found in a regulation.  This policy makes it district policy not to accept DNR or DNI orders from families.  The policy also states the limits of District responsibility for care following the rendering of emergency care.  Parental notice of emergency health care is required.

Policy 6683 - Fire Safety
This policy has been repealed.  The major elements have been added to the amended policy 6680.
