The School Board of Education votes to approve policies, which are brought forward by the district's superintendent with the approval of the Board's standing committee on policies.

At left are links to Minneapolis Public Schools' policies, and regulations.

• Policies and Bylaws are divided roughly into chapter subject divisions by number .
• Alphabetical List can be useful if you know the title of the policy.
• Policies are numbered and Regulations carry the policy number and a letter.
• Policies generally answer the question WHAT? and Regulations generally answer the question HOW?

At right are policies that address frequently asked questions that may be in different divisions put together by topic for your convenience.  Make sure that you check to see if the policy has Regulations which can be found by going to the chapters in the left hand column.

The policies are currently undergoing a systematic review and revision 

• Please check back to see if the policy or regulation you want has been revised, replaced or repealed.  This project will take approximately six years (2009-2014).
   
• As changes are made notice will be made under the section "Recent Changes" at left.  Click on that title for a list of changes made.  These lists will be by the date of the Board Resolution and will be included in this section for three months.

This online resource is currently the most up to date version of our Policy manual.  Individual schools may have outdated paper policy manuals that should be compared to this online resource to make sure that the currently approved policies are being followed.
